In the flats of Mill Valley, the site and program of this house called for creating a warm and comfortable home for a large family to enjoy and gather on for years to come. It is meant to be modern with expansive glass and outdoor connectivity but also fit into the context of this unique pocket of marin county and create a more subtle and quiet façade facing the public street but with more glass and exposure in the rear yard and courtyard pool and lawn area. The shed roofs echo the distant mt. tam views and the materials consist primary of wood, basalt and travertine.
